Linseed (Linumusitatissimum), also known as flaxseed, is widely grown in tropical and subtropical climates including Indian continent.  It is among the world’s oldest cultivated crops with evidence of cultivation of thousands of years.  At present Canada holds record of top producer of flax seed in the world. There are two types of flax seed commonly found -brown and golden, which are equally nutritious. A typically suggested dose for  ground flax seeds is 1 tablespoon (7 grams).
